Generating your Lead Story…
Want to Be One of the First Applicants on LinkedIn Jobs? Here’s a trick most people don’t know 👇
Timing matters more than people realize in a competitive job market.
Hiring managers don’t review 300 resumes at once. They review the first strong ones that come in and often pause once they’ve found enough qualified candidates.
That’s why being early gives you a real advantage.
Here’s how to find jobs posted in the last hour on LinkedIn.
Step-by-step: How to see jobs posted in the last hour
Step 1: Go to the Jobs tab on LinkedIn
From your homepage, click Jobs.
Step 2: Search for your target role
Example searches:
“Human Resources Manager”
“Product Marketing Manager”
“Senior Recruiter”
“Transportation Manager”
Be specific. Precision beats volume.
Step 3: Filter by Date Posted → Past 24 hours
This narrows results but we’re not done yet.
Here’s the part most people miss 👀
Step 4: Look at the URL in your browser
You’ll see something like this:
TPR=r86400
That number represents seconds.
86,400 seconds = 24 hours
Step 5: Change 86400 to 3600
3,600 seconds = 1 hour
So it becomes:
TPR=r3600
Step 6: Hit Enter
💥 Boom — you’re now viewing jobs posted in the last hour.
Why this works (and why it matters)
Example:
When a recruiter posts a role at 9:00 AM, the clock starts working against most candidates. By 11:00 AM, that same posting can easily have 120+ applications, with the majority of resumes skimmed—if they’re reviewed at all. The first 10–20 applicants, however, are a different story. Those resumes are actually read, candidates are often contacted first, and in many cases shortlisted before the role even gains traction publicly. Early applicants aren’t luckier—they’re strategic. And with the right timing and approach, you can consistently put yourself in that first group.
✔️ Check this filter 2–3 times per day
✔️ Apply with a tailored resume, not a generic one
✔️ Follow up by viewing the recruiter or hiring manager’s profile
✔️ Comment thoughtfully if the job is also shared as a post
Speed + relevance beats volume every time.
Final thought
Job searching isn’t just about being qualified. It’s about being visible at the right moment.
If you want an edge, this is one of the simplest ones you can use today.
Save this. Share it. Use it.

You can’t make this stuff up

“Hi Matthew, Thank you for your insights on the call this morning. As someone that has been in the employment industry for 26yrs (as both a Recruiter and now a Career Coach), I have a love/hate relationship with tech for tech sake, instead of creating tech and systems that make things better instead of harder for all. I also appreciate your posts and for treating people like people. Kudos, look forward to staying in contact.”
